Patty McCallum

Patty McCallum is a 33 year veteran of the Calgary Police Service. She retired in 2019 at the rank of Inspector, and throughout her lengthy career, she has developed the skills and expertise crucial to effective workplace consultation and investigations. Over her career, she served in many units; notably, she worked in Homicide, Child Abuse, Domestic Conflict Unit, Professional Standards Unit, Polygraph and Behavioral Sciences Unit. Patty possesses a high level of investigative skill, a direct result of her work-related experiences. She was instrumental in the creation of the Forensic Interview and Assist Team (FIAT), and was also a long-time instructor of the Investigative Skills and Education Program (ISEP) - a valued program which teaches investigative interviewing skills to law enforcement members. Since the creation of Athena Consulting Inc., Patty has been busy conducting administrative investigations, and has a solid appreciation of the unique differences between criminal and administrative investigations. Patty is a licensed investigator though Alberta Justice and Solicitor General, and carries general liability and errors and omissions insurance.

Patty Kohl

Patty Kohl is a 36 year veteran with Alberta Correctional Services, and retired in 2022. Most notably, since September of 2012, Patty was with the Professional Standards Unit (PSU). In March of 2015, Patty became the Director of the PSU, and conducted various levels of investigations, ranging from workplace reviews and investigations to high-level Boards of Inquiry. Patty's investigative experience includes work with the Human Resource and Health Care sectors. Additionally, Patty oversaw the audit functions of all the provincial correctional institutions in Alberta. Patty brings a high level of investigative, analytical and consulting skills to Athena Consulting Inc. With the PSU, Patty conducted well over 1000 investigative interviews and nearly 100 investigations. She also developed and delivered investigative skills training to many over the years. Patty is well-versed in provincial acts and legislation, and excels at writing investigative and analytical reports. Patty is a licensed investigator through Alberta Justice and Solicitor General, and carries general liability and errors and omissions insurance.
